This spread hides more than it shows. It's a little different from typical photography since cameras are all about capturing light, but I have always been more drawn to the shadows than the light itself. My spread is built around a house in the jungle, half-hidden in shadow. As I like to say: "light shows you everything, but shadow lets you choose what to see." To get this look, I underexposed my shots on purpose so the blacks stayed deep and looked for single strong light sources instead of bright, even lighting. I wanted readers to slow down with these images instead of just glancing past them.
